Responders Panel

  1. Manage – Click here to add/edit/delete responders
  2. Assigned Responders – Responders that have been assigned to an incident will appear at the top of list and appear as Red , Yellow or Blue , depending on the Dispatch Mode
  3. Available Responders – A Green icon represents a responder who is available to respond to an incident, but is not currently assigned
    • If the Responder has enabled GPS tracking permissions on their device, dispatchers can click on their icon to see their last recorded geographic location
  4. Opens VoIP application to call this Responder’s mobile phone (e.g., using Skype)
  5. Opens a private chat with this Responder
    • Note: If the header shows “SMS” before the Responder’s name, that means the Responder is currently interacting with Beacon via SMS. If the header only shows their name, that means they are currently using the mobile app (Internet data) to interact with Beacon. Due to the nature of SMS messaging, Beacon treats the two communication modes separately
  6. Cancel Incident Responder – Click here to cancel an Assigned Responder’s participation in the incident and allow them to receive new incident alerts
  7. Expand / Collapse Responder Card – Click to expand the responder card and view additional information like their current status in the response workflow
  8. Single Incident Badge – A single badge indicates the number of the incident that the Responder is currently assigned (or scheduled to be assigned) to
  9. Multiple Incident Badges – If there are multiple incident badges displayed, the first one indicates the number of the incident that the Responder is currently assigned (or scheduled to be assigned) to; additional badges indicate incidents that the responder will be assigned to after they complete their participation in the current incident
  10. Responder Tags – The tag icon will display the number of tags assigned for the responder. Hoover over it to see the list of tags.
  11. Log Out Button – Click the log out button to change the Responder’s status from On-Duty/Available to Off-Duty. To log them back in and make them On-Duty/Available again, click on the Manage button at the top of the panel

Expanded Responder Card

Expanding the responder card will display additional information about the responder and also the responder state when involve on an active incident.

  1. Responder Icon — If the Responder has enabled GPS tracking permissions on their device, dispatchers can click on the responder icon to see their last recorded geographic location
  2. Responder Name — Web Managers can click to view the Responder Performance Report (m)
  3. Incident Badge — Displays the incident number the responder is involved in. If the agency is using multiple Dispatch Modes the responder might have multiple Incident Badges when assigned to more than one incident
  4. Responder Tags count — Displays the count of tags that have been assigned to the responder
  5. Expand Collapse Responder Card
  6. Responder Tags — Tags assigned to the responder are displayed here when card is expanded
  7. Responder Attributes Interface (more information below)
  8. Dispatch Controller Interface (more information below)

Responder Attributes

Responder Attributes are labels that, unlike Tags, do not affect the Broadcast Incident Alerts and can be added or edited by Dispatchers. Attributes can be temporary (e.g., to denote multiple crew members working on a Response Vehicle during a particular shift) or permanent (e.g., to indicate a skillset or title)
To add Attributes to a Responder from the Responders panel:

  1. Find the responder you would want to add attributes to and expand the Responder Profile
  2. Click on New Responder Attribute
  3. Type in the Attribute
  4. Click the Save icon when finished
  5. The saved Attribute will be displayed under the Responder Name

Action buttons

  1. Edit– Clicking it will allow saved attributes to be edited
  2. Delete– Clicking it will delete the attribute
  3. Cancel – Clicking it will cancel the action and not save current edits

Responder Attributes can also be added through the incident details page. Click here to learn more

Dispatch Controller

The Dispatch Controller allows a Dispatcher to advance the Responder through the Incident Workflow, updating the Responder’s state on their behalf.
The Dispatch Controller is available in either the Incident panel or Responder panel:

  1. The current status of the responder is displayed in the
Colored Block (depending on the Dispatch Mode)
  2. The Rollback button will revert the responder’s status back to the previous state.
  3. Making a selection from the dropdown will advance the responder status accordingly.
